NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2023
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
(A370 Main Road, Brockley, and Brockley Combe Road, Backwell, North Somerset) (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2023 Date coming into force: 2 October 2023 - Ref: T23-17a
Will be to restrict, temporarily any vehicles from exceeding 30mph on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services. The above restriction is necessary in the interest of public safety and the facilitation of road works as part of the BSIP (Bus Service Improvement Plan) works being undertaken by North Somerset Council.
This order will become operative on the 2 October 2023 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 20 weeks in duration.
Schedule - A370 Main Road, Brockley from its Southwestern most junction with Chelvey Batch to its junction with Littlewood Lane. Brockley Combe Road, Backwell from its Junction with A370 Main Road, Brockley to a point 50m south along Brockley Combe Road.
(A370 Main Road and Brockley Lane, Brockley, North Somerset) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2023 Date coming into force: 2 October 2023 - Ref: T23-18a
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the schedule to this notice.
This order is required because of highway improvement works and will become operative on 2 October 2023 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. It is anticipated the closures on Main Road, Brockley will be at night-time only from 8pm to 6am and will take place from 12 February 2024 for approximately 2 weeks. It is anticipated that the closure of Brockley Lane will be at all times from the 2 October 2023 for 20 weeks.
Schedule - A370 Main Road, Brockley from its Southwestern most junction with Chelvey Batch to its junction with Littlewood Lane. Brockley Lane, Brockley from its junction with A370 Main Road, Brockley to the entrance to Brockley Hall.
Alternative routes - 1) Main Road, Brockley Diversion - A370 Main Road, Brockley. A370 West Town Road, A370 Farleigh Road, A370 Main Road, Flax Bourton, A370 Long Ashton By-pass, Gurney Roundabout, A4174 Colliters Way, A38 Bridgwater Road, A38 Red Hill, A38 Lower Langford By-pass, B3133 Stock Lane, B3133 Brinsea Road, B3133 High Street, A370 Bristol Road, A370 Rhodyate Hill, A370 Main Road and vice-versa. 2) Brockley Lane Diversion - Brockley Lane, Chelvey Road, A370 Main Road, Brockley and vice versa.
FINAL NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2023
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, have made an order the effect of which:
Royal Portbury Dock Road, Portbury, North Somerset, Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2023
Date coming into force: 3 September 2023 - Ref: T23-40
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the schedule to this notice. Exemptions included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles.
This order is required due to lining and signing works and will become operative on 3 September 2023 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 night, between 8pm and 6am.
Schedule - Royal Portbury Dock Road, Portbury from its junction with the A369 Junction 19 Interchange to the Royal Portbury Dock Road Roundabout linking Gordano Way, Bradley Road, and Portbury Way.
Alternative Routes - Gordano Way, Marsh Lane, Church Road, St Georges Hill, A369 Martcombe Road, A369 Junction 19 Interchange and vice versa.
West Hay Road, Wrington Road, Wrington, North Somerset Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2023
Date coming into force: 21 August 2023 - Ref: SW23.24-141
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of roads.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for gully and cabling works. This will become operative on the 21 August 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to commence on 26 September 2023 and be of 3 days in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule - West Hay Road and Wrington Road between Alburys and Iwood Lane.

Burwalls Road, Leigh Woods, North Somerset Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2023
Date coming into force: 18 September 2023 - Ref: SW23.24-123
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to install gas connection point. This will become operative on the 18 September 2023 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 12 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Knowles Road, Clevedon, North Somerset Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2023
Date coming into force: 4 September 2023 - Ref: SW23.24-103
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water for CCTV survey and cleaning of sewer. This will become operative on the 4 September 2023 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule - Knowles Road from property number 18 to junction of Strode Road.
