ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 

PIT LANE, WOMBWELL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
An order will be made to close Pit Lane, for 20 metres either side of railway bridge, from 12 September 2023 for approximately one day.
Reason: Railway bridge examination.
An alternative route is available via: Dovecliffe Road/Hough Lane/Windmill Road.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
An order has been made to close Billingley View from Carr Head Lane to Heather Walk, from 2nd September 2023 for approximately 2 days.
Reason: Highway remedial works.
An alternative route is available via: Carr Head Lane, Thurnscoe Road, Carr Field Lane.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
An order has been made to close St Helens Street from outside No.151 to No.131, from 4th September 2023 for approximately 3 days.
Reason: New water supply.
An alternative route is available via: Hill Street, Cobcar Street, Cobcar Lane.

HARWOOD TERRACE & TRUEMAN TERRACE, LUNDWOOD
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
An order will be made to close the full length of Harwood Terrace and Trueman Terrace, from 4 September 2023 for approximately two weeks. The closure will be in place weekdays and Sundays only, from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm and the roads will not be closed at the same time.
Reason: Footway resurfacing works.

An order will be made to close Mount Avenue for the full length from Mount Pleasant, from 11th September 2023 for approximately 2 weeks, between 08:00 and 17:00.

An order will be made to close Bluebell Avenue, Green Road, High Street, Clarel Street, Chapelfield Lane, Schole Avenue, Back Lane and Market Lane, Penistone on 9 September 2023 between 0600 and 2000. Roads to be closed intermittently as required.

An order will be made to close Shambles Street from Gateway Plaza car park to John Rideal House, from 10 September 2023 for approximately one day.

THURGOLAND FOOTPATH 40 AND 26
TEMPORARY CLOSURE
The Secretary of State has authorised an extension to close Thurgoland footpath 40 from Old Mill Lane to its junction with footpath 26, and a small part of footpath 26 diverted around a site compound from the 8 September 2023 for up to 6 months.
REASON: Access to the Upper Don River and installation of a new fish pass. Works are expected to go on until November 2023.

WESTGATE, MONK BRETTON
TEMPORARY ONE-WAY RESTRICTION
An order will be made to introduce a one-way restriction on Westgate, allowing traffic to travel from Rotherham Road towards Livingstone Crescent only, from 12th September 2023 for approximately 3 days.
REASON: Remedial works to rectify defect
An alternative route is available via: Westgate, Cross Street, Burton Road, Rotherham Road.

BARNSLEY FOOTPATH 260
TEMPORARY CLOSURE
An order will be made to close part of Barnsley footpath no. 260 from Park Road to its junction with footpath 266 at the rear of the Barnsley fire station from the 11 September 2023 for up to 6 months.
Please be aware that extensions to this order will be requested of the Secretary of State at the end of 6 months as the construction period is through to 30 August 2024.
REASON: To enable the construction of the new Trinity Secondary School.

BRIDGE STREET/ST MARY’S STREET/MARKET STREET, PENISTONE
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
An order has will be made to close the below streets:
• Bridge Street, Penistone between Barnsley Road and St Mary’s Street.
• St Mary’s Street, Penistone between Bridge Street and Market Street.
• Market Street, Penistone between Bridge Street and Shrewsbury Road.
Roads will be closed on a phased basis from 10 September 2023 for approximately 2 weeks. Closures will be in place overnight only between 1900 and 0500 (except Sundays between 1800 and 0500). Closures may not be on consecutive nights. The full extents listed will not all be closed at the same time.
Reason: Carriageway resurfacing
An alternative route for vehicles under 4 metres in height is available via: Barnsley Road/High Lee Lane/Oxspring Lane/Jockey Road/Rag Lane/Thurgoland Bank/Sheffield Road/Shrewsbury Road. An alternative route for vehicles over 4 metres in height is available via Thurlstone Road/Manchester Road/Hartcliff Road/Hartcliff Hill Road/Mossley Road/Mortimer Road/High Street.
