What is happening?

WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY KP16 – HARPOLE &  PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY LB1 (PART) – UPTON) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians, equestrians and cyclists from proceeding along those lengths of Public Bridleway KP16 in Harpole and Public Bridleway LB1 (Part) in Upton as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said lengths of bridleways are unaffected.

RIGHTS OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The existing route of KP16 to be closed begins at point A at National Grid Reference (“NGR”) SP7019 6083, on Sandy Lane. The route travels generally east along KP16 and part of LB1 for approximately 874 metres to point B at NGR SP7102 6077.

The route is shown by a solid black line between points A - B.

REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required for safety during construction works.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 18th September 2023 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: There is no suitable alternative route.
