WHITEBIRK ROUNDABOUT, RISHTON, HYNDBURN BOROUGH (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any class of vehicle to proceed over that length of Whitebirk roundabout for full length of roundabout

2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 2000 hours to 0500 hours on Thursday 28th September 2023 until Friday 13th October 2023 or until completion of the works within this period.

4. Pedestrian access to premises on or adjacent to the road will not be prohibited by any provision of this order.

5. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles

6. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- WestBound – M65 Junction 5 – A6077 Haslingden Road- Shadsworth Road – Whitebirk Road – Blackburn Road North EastBound- M65 JCT 7 Offslip – Dunkenhalgh way – Blackburn Road - Whalley Road - Harwood new Road – Park Lane – Cliffe Lane – Blackburn old Road – Harwood Road – Rishton Road – Parsonage Road- Hollowhead – Whalley Road – Whalley new Road – Barbara castle way- Higher Eanam - Copy nook- Carl foggarty way – Blackburn Road South and vice versa

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out by Lancashire County Council.
