What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

A250 Halfway Road, Minster-on-Sea.​ ME12 3AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A250 Halfway Road, Minster-on-Sea, on or after 6th September 2023, for up to 6 days, between the hours of 20.00 and 05.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Power Station Road and Danley Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A250 Queenborough Road, B2007 Main Road, A249 Brielle Way, A250 Bridge Road, Millennium Way, High Street and vice versa.

 

Church Road, Scraps Hill & Hempstead Lane, Tonge.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

For the safety of the public and workforce, a one-way system has been created to allow construction works to be carried out at Sittingbourne Golf Centre. Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on parts of Church Road, Scraps Hill and Hempstead Lane, Tonge on or after 18th September 2023, with estimated completion by 18th January 2024, or until the works have been completed.

Traffic will be temporarily prohibited, as detailed below.

•  Church Road, Tonge - closed to southbound traffic between the junctions with Scraps Hill and Hempstead Lane.

•  Scraps Hill, Tonge - closed to westbound traffic between the junctions with Lower Road / Hempstead Lane and Church Road.

•  Hempstead Lane, Tonge - closed to northeast bound traffic between the junctions with Church Road and Lower Road.

 

Crockham Lane, Hernhill.​ ME13 9LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Crockham Lane, Hernhill, on or after 22nd September 2023, for up to 1 day, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Crockham Road and Church Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Church Hill, Butlers Hill, Crockham Road and vice versa.

 

Cyprus Road, Gordon Square & Westgate Road, Faversham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow footway preservation treatment works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Cyprus Road, Gordon Square and Westgate Road, Faversham, on or after 18th September 2023, for up to 4 days, between the hours of 07.00 and 17.00 hours, or until the works have been completed.

Cyprus Road & Gordon Square will be closed from 18th September 2023, with estimated completion by 20th September 2023.

The roads will be closed between Whitstable Road and outside number 1 Gordon Square, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Westgate Road will be closed from 19th September 2023, with estimated completion by 21st September 2023.

The road will be closed in its entirety.

There is no alternative route for these closures, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so. Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Frognal Lane, Teynham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Frognal Lane, Teynham, on or after 4th September 2023, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Frognal Close and number 47, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A2 London Road, Hempstead Lane, Lower Road and vice versa.

 

Lower Road, Teynham.​ ME9 9DA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Road, Teynham, on or after 4th September 2023, for up to 1 night, between the hours of 20.00 and 05.00, or until the works have been completed.

Southern Water are aware of the closure on Frognal Lane for South East Water and will have a symbolised diversion route in place.  Additional signs will be in place to support vehicle movements.

The road will be closed between Frognal Lane and Orchard View, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Lower Road, Hempstead Lane, A2 London Road, Station Road and vice versa.

 

Selling Road, Selling and Fox Lane, Boughton under Blean.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow drainage gully cleansing to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Selling Road, Selling & Fox Lane, Boughton, on or after 21st September 2023, for up to 1 day, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between number 11 and the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Fox Lane, South Street (Hickmans Green), Hickmans Green, Colonels Lane, The Street, Stockers Hill, Canterbury Road, A2 Canterbury Road, Brenley Corner, London Road (Canterbury Road), Canterbury Road, Selling Road and vice versa.

 

Sheerness Road, Lower Halstow.​ ME9 7ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow main laying works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sheerness Road, Lower Halstow, on or after 18th September 2023, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Barksore Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via The Street (Sheerness Road), Breach Lane, A2 Hartlip Hill, London Road, Boyces Hill, Keycol Hill, Key Street Roundabout, Sheppey Way, Stickfast Lane, Iwade Road (School Lane), Basser Hill and vice versa.

 

Wises Lane, Borden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wises Lane, Borden, on or after 4th September 2023, with estimated completion by 15th September 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed just south of Maylam Gardens, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Wises Lane, A2 London Road, Borden Lane, The Street and vice versa.
