THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Various Roads in Guildford, Mole Valley and Waverley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate installation of signs, vegetation works and/ or other highways improvement/safety works, which is anticipated to be completed over four weeks, as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 8 September 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Due to the nature of the works, vehicular access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties may be restricted. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. NB: There are no programmed dates for these works yet and will be confirmed by advanced notification/advanced warning signs on site.
