Knitsley Mill Road, Temporary Road Closure Due To Drainage Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Knitsley Mill Road, Knitsley) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 50 metre length of Knitsley Mill Road that extends west from 20 metres west of its junction with C16a Butsfield Lane, Knitsley to enable highway drainage works to be undertaken.
An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the eastern side of the closure from C16a Butsfield Lane north to the junction with Delves Lane then north westerly on Delves Lane to A692 Roundabout and continuing south westerly on A692 then south on the road between Hermiston Retail Park Roundabout and Knitsley Lane leading south easterly to the western side of the closure, and vice versa.
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence at 8am on 11/9/2023 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be one week between 8am and 4.30 pm per day. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
