What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(JEWISON LANE LEVEL CROSSING,
SEWERBY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed over Jewison Lane Level Crossing,
Sewerby and 20 metres either side of the crossing from
22.00 hours on 2 September 2023 until 09.15 hours
on 3 September 2023. The reason for the closure is to
enable the proposed level crossing uplift for rail inspection
works, to be carried out and completed in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within
12 hours. The alternative route for traffic affected by the
Order is via Jewison Lane, Sheeprake Lane, Marton Gate,
The Crayke, Annerley Drive, Marton Gate Roundabout,
Marton Road Roundabout, Marton Road, Marton Road
Shops, Bempton Lane and Short Lane
The road will be closed to all traffic including pedestrians.
The Order will commence 2 September 2023 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to carry
out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
