Birding Street and Woodhouse Road - Temporary Traffic Prohibition

What is happening?


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Mansfield Town in the District of Mansfield.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
Birding Street– from its junction with Main Bright Walk (Mansfield Woodhouse) to its junction with Woodhouse Road.
Woodhouse Road- from its junction with Birding Street to its junction with Oxford Street
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 07:30 hours on Monday 11th September 2023
Until 17:00 hours on Wednesday 20th December 2023

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Birding Street – Dunsil Road – Sherwood Rise – A6075 Debdale Lane – A6191 Chesterfield Road South – A6009 Chesterfield Road South and vice versa.
Woodhouse Road – St Peters Way – Bath Lane – B6033 Bath Lane – B6033 Ravensdale Road – B6030 Sherwood Hall Road – B6040 Clipstone Road West - A6117 Old Mill Lane – A60 Leeming Lane South and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on Monday 11th September 2023 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out carriageway patching works.
