Mansfield Footpath No.6 and No.27 - Temporary Footpath Closure
What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MANSFIELD FOOTPATH NO.6 AND NO.27 AND MEDEN TRAIL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-
No person shall:-
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
in the following lengths of Footpath and Trail at Mansfield in the District of Ashfield:-
Mansfield Footpath No.6 the steps leading down to the river Meden.
Mansfield Footpath No.27 and Meden Trail between Mansfield Footpath No.6 and Chesterfield Road, Pleasley.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-
From Monday, 4th September 2023 until Friday, 6th October 2023 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative routes will be on roadside pavements only.
The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpaths. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.
The prohibition is required to enable the Environment Agency to carry out desilting works to the river, to reduce flood risk, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpaths.
THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED
THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 23RD DAY OF AUGUST 2023.
