What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Surrey Street) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.254) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 5th September 2023 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITON OF LOADING AND WAITING
SURREY STREET

From side of No. 118 Commercial Road to outside No. 2 Surrey Street (to junction of spur road and opposite).
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate crane works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 08:00 to 17:00 on 5th September 2023 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
No vehicle diversion - dead end.
Pedestrian access will be diverted around the works: Commercial Road - Station Road - Surrey Street and vice versa.
