Higher House Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(HIGHER HOUSE LANE, HEAPEY, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Higher House Lane, Heapey from Rough Lee Barn for 100 metres in a north westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Friday 1st September 2023 until 1700 hours on Tuesday 19th September 2023 or until completion of the works within this period. Access to be maintained wherever and whenever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:
Heapey Road – Knowley Brow – Blackburn/Botany Brow – Eaves Lane Cowling Brow – Weavers Brow – Long Lane – Babylon Lane - Nickleton Brow
Nick Hilton's Lane – Knowsley Lane – Moor Road.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow national grid maintenance works to be carried out by Carr Civil Engineering Ltd.
