What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(TOUR OF BRITAIN 2023, VARIOUS DISRTICTS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian (except for event participants) from proceeding over the following lengths of Highway;
i. A680 Rochdale Road, Ramsbottom from its boundary with Greater Manchester to its junction with A676 Bury Road.
ii. A676 Bury Road, Ramsbottom from its junction with A680 Rochdale Road to its merging with C706 Bury Road.
iii. C706 Bury Road, Ramsbottom from its merging with A676 Bury Road to its boundary with Greater Manchester.
iv. Sheep House Lane, Rivington from its boundary with Black With Darwen to its merging with Horrobin Lane.
v. Horrobin Lane, Rivington from its merging with Sheep House Lane to its merging with Horrobin Lane, Anderton.
vi. Horrobin Lane, Anderton from its merging with Horrobin Lane, Rivington to its junction with Roscoe Low Brow.
vii. Roscoe Low Brow from its junction with Horrobin Lane to its junction with A673 Bolton Road.
viii. A673 Bolton Road, Anderton from a point 5 metres eitherside of its junction with Roscoe Low Brow.
ix. Grimeford Lane, Anderton from its junction with A673 Bolton Road to its boundary with Greater Manchester.
Roads will be closed by the Police Central Escort Group no more than 30 minute before entering the county boundary and will reopen directly after the race has passed.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closures will be signed locally.
Access will be maintained via marshal points for residents and businesses.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the holding of the Tour Of Britain 2023
The prohibition will be operative from 1330 hours until 1430 hours on Sunday 3rd September 2023. (Or, at such time as, the last competitor has passed a point of highway specified in this order.
