What is happening?

DUDLEY METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL 

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) DUDLEY METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE & PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (MANOR ABBEY ROAD, HALESOWEN & CHASE ROAD, LOWER GORNAL) NOTICE 2023 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council made the above-mentioned temporary Order to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works on Manor Abbey Road, Halesowen and Chase Road, Lower Gornal. The effects of which will be to prohibit: - (a) the waiting, loading, or unloading vehicles; (b) all vehicles from entering or proceeding; on Manor Abbey Road, Halesowen, from the junction of Carters Lane to the junction of Lapal Lane North, and Chase Road, Lower Gornal, from the junction of Cinder Road to the junction of Coopers Bank Road, at such times and extent when prescribed traffic signs are being displayed. The Order will apply at 08:00 hours on Thursday 31st August 2023. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16:00 hours on Thursday 7th September. The Order will remain valid for a maximum duration of 18 months to allow for unexpected events, or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. Diversions for all vehicular traffic on Manor Abbey Road shall be via: Carters Lane, Manor Lane, Lapal Lane North and vice versa. Diversions for all vehicular traffic on Chase Road, Lower Gornal shall be via: Cinder Road, Stallings Lane, Tansey Green Road, Smithy Lane, Coopers Bank Road and vice versa. Exemptions will be provided for: - (d) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a civil enforcement officer in uniform; (e) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order; (f) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works.
