Christchurch Cemetery, Footpath no 389/51/1, Temporary Closure
What is happening?
NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL (CHRISTCHURCH CEMETERY, NEWPORT) (FOOTPATH NUMBER 389/51/1) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intends not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along Footpath 389/51/1 from its point at grid reference ST 33950 88876 to its point at grid reference ST 33891 88926.
No single alternative route is available although access will be provided to an alternative entrance to nature where possible.
The reason for making the order is to enable extension works to the Cemetery area. The proposed order will be operative from 01 September 2023 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Hysbysir trwy hyn fod Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd, wrth arfer ei bwerau dan Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y'i diwygiwyd), yn bwriadu, mewn dim llai na 7 niwrnod o dyddiad yr hysbysiad hwn, wneud gorchymyn a fydd yn gwahardd unrhyw berson rhag mynd ar hyd llwybr troed 389/51/1 o bwynt ar gyfeirnod grid ST 33950 88876 i bwynt ar gyfeirnod grid ST 33891 88926.
Nid oes un llwybr arall ar gael, ond darperir mynediad at fynedfa arall i fyd natur lie bo hynny'n bosibl.
Y rheswm dros wneud y gorchymyn yw er mwyn galluogi gwaith estyniad i ardal y fynwent. Bydd y gorchymyn a gynigir yn weithredol o 01 Medi 2023 a bydd yn aros mewn grym am gyfnod hyd at 6 mis neu hyd nes y bydd y gwaith a gynigir wedi'i gwblhau, pa bynnag un sydd gyntaf.
