What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Sidmouth Avenue) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.253) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 4th September 2023 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITON OF LOADING AND WAITING
SIDMOUTH AVENUE
From its junction with Moneyfield Avenue to outside No. 25 and opposite.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate SGN works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 4th September 2023 to 6th October 2023 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Works will be carried out in 35m sections. (No.25 - 17, No.15 - 7 and No. 7 -1). Each works will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to affected residents and businesses.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Teignmouth Road - Seaton Avenue - Moneyfield Avenue.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works. Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion.
