Stonebridge To Langley Moor, Temporary Road Closure Due To Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (A690 Stonebridge to Langley Moor) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023
The Council on 11/8/23 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic, except for access by emergency service vehicles from proceeding on a 900 metre length of A690 between Stonebridge Roundabout and C18 Front Street, Langley Moor to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken.
An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the northern side of the closure from A690 Stonebridge Roundabout north easterly to A167, then southerly to Honest Lawyer Roundabout, Sunderland Bridge, then westerly / north westerly on B6300 Browney Lane to A690 Meadowfield leading to Langley Moor the southern side of the closure, and vice versa.
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence between 8pm and 6am for 5 nights from 20/8/23, 3 nights from 29/8/23 and one night from 4/9/23. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
