What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A38 ALFRETON ROAD & B6027 COMMON ROAD, SUTTON IN ASHFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2023 (A23-079)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Sutton in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the length of road listed in Paragraph 3.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting (both sides, at any time) in the length of road listed in Paragraph 3.

3. The length of road referred to in Articles 1 and 2 is the following:

a) A38 Alfreton Road - from its junction with Cartwright Lane to its junction with Pinxton Lane

b) B6027 Common Road - from its junction with A38 Alfreton Road to its junction with Export Drive

4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 20:00 hours on Monday 4th September 2023
Until 06:00 hours on Saturday 30th September 2023

Overnight 20:00 - 06:00 daily and no weekend restrictions

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

M1 - A608 Mansfield Road (Annesley) - A611 Derby Road - A60 Nottingham Road (Mansfield) - A617 Sherwood Way South (Sutton in Ashfield)

The Order will come into force on Monday 4th September 2023 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.
