Maidstone, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

Bow Bridge, Wateringbury.​ ME18 5DY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bow Bridge, Wateringbury, on or after 10th September 2023, for up to 1 day, between the hours of 02.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2015 Maidstone Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane, B2162 Lees Road, B2010 High Street, Kenward Road, Bow Hill and vice versa.

 

Bower Place, Maidstone.​ ME16 8SL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bower Place, Maidstone, on or after 21st August 2023, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed. The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 53, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order on Bower Place will be temporarily suspended, to allow for access.

The alternative route is via Bower Place, A26 Tonbridge Road, St Michaels Road, Upper Fant Road.

 

Buckland Hill, Maidstone.​ ME16 0GB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow drainage jetting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Buckland Hill, Maidstone, on or after 10th September 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 06.00 and 18.00,  or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Buckland Hill, London Road, A20, A229, St Peters Street, Buckland Hill and vice versa.

 

Pear Tree Lane, Maidstone.​ ME15 9RA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pear Tree Lane, Maidstone, on or after 21st August 2023, for up to 5 days, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 31, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Paynes Lane, Berwyn Grove, Norrington Road and vice versa.

 

Priory Road, Maidstone.​ ME15 6HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023

To allow sewer connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Priory Road, Maidstone, on or after 21st August 2023, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the former Archbishop Courtenay School, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is:-

Diversion 1 – Foster Street, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Knightrider Street.

Diversion 2 – A249 Knightrider Street, A229 Mill Street, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A229 Upper Stone Street, Foster Street, Priory Road.

 

The Street & Kemsley Street Road, Bredhurst.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street & Kemsley Street Road, Bredhurst as follows:-

The Street, Bredhurst

The Street will be closed from 21st August 2023, with estimated completion by 9th October 2023.

The road will be closed from the junction with Kemsley Street Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dunn Street, Lidsing Road, Hempstead Road, Chapel Lane, Hempstead Valley Drive, Wigmore Road, Maidstone Road and vice versa.

Kemsley Street Road, Bredhurst

Kemsley Street will be closed from 9th October 2023, with estimated completion by 29th October 2023.

The road will be closed from the junction with The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Maidstone Road, Deanwood Drive, Tyler Drive, Mierscourt Road, Matts Hill Road and vice versa.

 

Water Lane, Thurnham.​ ME14 3LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow replacement of decayed pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Water Lane, Thurnham, on or after 5th September 2023, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Cobham Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Water Lane, The Street, Thurnham Lane, Pilgrims Way, Water Lane and vice versa.

 

Well Street, Loose.​ ME15 0EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023

To allow overhead structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Well Street, Loose, on or after 4th September 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Gordon Close to the junction with Vale Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Well Street, High Banks, Old Loose Hill, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, Sockett Lane, Forstal Lane, Well Street and vice versa.
