What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1075 PRINCES STREET, IPSWICH
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1075 Princes Street, Ipswich from Burrell Road to Civic Drive to facilitate crowd safety during a football match. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Burrell Road, Stoke Street, Bridge Street, Greyfriars Road, Franciscan Way, Civic Drive, Handford Road, Ranelagh Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 26/08/2023 from 1 pm - 6pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3607 LOUDHAM HALL ROAD, PETTISTREE
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3607 Loudham Hall Road, Pettistree from the junction with the B1438 for 30 metres south eastbound to facilitate the installation of a bore hydrant.
Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Chapel Lane, the B1438 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 17/08/2023 -18/08/2023 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A12 MAIN ROAD, DARSHAM
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A12 Main Road, Darsham at the level crossing for 20 metres northbound and 20 metres southbound to facilitate level crossing works.
Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A12, the B1387, Dunwich Road, The Street, Reckford Road, Leiston Road, the N1122, Yoxford Road, Middleton Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 11.15pm on 26/08/2023 - 8.30am on 27/08/2023 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(IPSWICH) (HENLEY ROAD) (C441)
(PROHIBITION OF U TURNS) ORDER 202-
Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1,2 and 3 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to prohibit any motor vehicles travelling along Henley Road (in a southerly or northerly direction) from making U turns into Henley Gate, (opposite 233 Henley Road) from the junction between Henley Road and Henley Gate.
A copy of the draft order and a map showing the length of road affected, together with the council's reasons for the proposals, may be seen on request, at the address below between 9am - 5pm also at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3DE, Monday; 9am - 6pm Tuesday; 9am - 7pm, Wednesday - Thursday; 9am - 6pm, Friday; 9am - 7pm, Saturday; 8.30am - 5pm and Sunday 10am - 4pm excluding bank holidays and public holidays.

(VARIOUS ROADS, LOWESTOFT)
(PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES, ONE-WAY TRAFFIC AND REVOCATION) ORDER 2023
On 14/08/2023 Suffolk County Council made the above order under Sections 1,2 and 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The effect of which is to prohibit motor vehicles on:
• London Road North from a point 37 metres north-east of the centre of its junction with Regent Road, to a point on the southern side of its junction with Milton Road East (Schedule 1).
• High Street from a point 5 metres south of the southern kerb line of the east/west section of St Peters Street in a southerly direction to its junction with the A47 Artillery Way (Schedule 2).
• Triangle Market from a point 5 metres south of the southern kerb line of the east/west section of St Peters Street that triangular shaped area bounded by High Street to the east and the footway outside nos. 122 and 123 High Street and nos. 1-11 (odd) St Peters Street to the west (Schedule 2).
Exemptions to both Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of the order include emergency service vehicles; vehicles being used for building, industrial or demolition works; vehicles used for maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of the said length of the road; vehicles removing any obstruction to traffic; vehicles laying, erecting, altering or repairing the road or the land adjacent to the said length of road of any sewer or any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water, or electricity or any telecommunications system; vehicles being used by any owner, occupant or employee of a business or residential property adjacent to the said length of road and is authorised by East Suffolk Council for the purpose of loading and unloading goods.
Exemptions to Schedule 1 of the order also include any goods vehicle proceeding in the said length of road to gain access or to egress from the land or premises situated in that length of road for the purpose of loading or unloading goods between the hours of 4pm and 10am; and security vehicles being used to make a collection or delivery to premises situated in the length of road specified. Exemptions to Schedule 2 also include any vehicle proceeding in the lengths of road specified if the vehicle is being used in connection with the market and is authorised to do so by East Suffolk Council for the purpose of setting up and dismantling of market stalls only.
The order will also prohibit motor vehicles from travelling on High Street from its junction with the east/west section of St Peters Street (the old 'Triangle Link Road') in any direction but a southerly direction to its junction with the A47 Artillery Way.
This order will revoke parts of the following previous orders:
• The District of Waveney (St Peters Street, Old Market Plain Old Market Street, High Street, Lowestoft) (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) (Prohibition of Driving) (Prohibition and Restnction of Entry) and (One Way) order 1998.
• The Suffolk County Council (Various Roads, Lowestoft) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading, Additional Measures and Consolidation) order 2005.
• The Suffolk County Council (Various Roads, Lowestoft) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading, Prohibition of Driving with Exemptions, Parking Places and Suspension) order 2005.
• The Suffolk County Council (Gordon Road, Lowestoft) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading, Prohibition of Driving with Exemptions, Parking Places and Revocation) order 2007.
A copy of the order, which comes into effect on 18/08/2023, and plans showing the road affected, may be seen with advance notice at the address below 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Lowestoft Library, Clapham Road South, Lowestoft, NR32 1DR: 9am - 6pm Monday, 8.30am - 6pm Tuesday - Friday 9am - 5pm Saturday and 10am - 4pm Sunday.
If anyone wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(MAP-BASED) ORDER 2018 (LOWESTOFT) (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (VARIATION NO.T8) ORDER 2023
On 14/08/2023 Suffolk County Council made the above order under Sections 1,2 and 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will substitute revision 1 of Map Tiles AN198, A0197 and A0198 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tiles and revision 2 of Map Tile AM198 in place of revision 1 of the same Map Tile into the above-named 2018 order, as amended. The effect of which is to:
• remove the existing Pedestrian Zones from parts of Gordon Road, Regent Road, and London Road North, which are to be replaced with a Restricted Parking Zone as far as Halifax on London Road North (at No.150) and a new Pedestrian and Cycle Zone adjacent, up to the junction with Milton Road East. 'No Waiting and No Loading' at any time will apply within the new Restricted Parking Zone (existing signed bays to be retained) and 'No Waiting' at any time will apply within the new Pedestrian and Cycle Zone
• change the loading bay in Gordon Road outside Wilko's from allowing loading by any type of vehicle to loading by goods vehicles only.
• convert the existing 30 minute limited waiting bay outside Nos. 87 and 88 High Street to goods vehicles loading only Monday - Saturday between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
• apply a time limit to the existing disabled parking bay in St Peters Street just south of Triangle Yard, to permit a maximum stay of 3 hours (no return within 1 hour).
• remove the existing Pedestrian Zone from part of High Street and the Triangle Market area, which is to be replaced with a new Pedestnan and Cycle Zone, with 'No Waiting' at any time applying throughout the zone.
