Shropshire - Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions To Allow Necessary Works To Be Undertaken

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S

PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING

NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (The Council) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roadsas stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any
land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.

The Order/s came into force on 28th August 2023 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using King Street, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 2 nights between 20:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Thermal Patching remedial works (Please note that these works will not take place at the same time as other thermal patching remedial works on High Street and Brand Lane)
Alternative Route: Dinham, Middlewood road, Whitcliffe road, B4361 Old Street, Bullring

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Aston Lane, Claverley
Date & Duration: 28th August 2023 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Long Comm Pipe Repair 25mm
Alternative Route: Church Street, Unnamed road North East, B4176, Unnamed road South West

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Moss Lane and Rack Lane, Whixhall
Date & Duration: 2nd September 2023 for 2 days between 09:30 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Access for underground
Alternative Route: Rack Lane, Unnamed road North, Unnamed road West

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between B4378 and Callaughton
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-new water connection
Alternative Route: B4378, A458, Unnamed road South and South West

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between B5063 and Moreton Castle
Date & Duration: 31st August 2023 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Bbox Renew 25mm add Meter

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using College Hill, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 28th August 2023 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, stop tap rebuild chamber.
Alternative Route: Market Street, Shoplatch, St Johns Hill, Cross Hill, Swan Hill

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Derrington Road, Ditton Priors
Date & Duration: 3rd September 2023 from 08:00 to 06:00 4th September 2023
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water -Air valve Renew
Alternative Route: Unnamed road North East, B4368, A458, B4364, Oakwood road, South road, Derrington road

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Evenwood and Cound Moor
Date & Duration: 31st August 2023 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, boundary box Install.
Alternative Route: Unnamed road North East through Coundmoor, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road South East

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between B5063 and B5476 near Wem
Date & Duration: 30th August 2023 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Lay new duct
Alternative Route: B5063, Unnamed road North East

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Kingsland Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 14 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Cadent Gas, main replacement works.
Alternative Route: Luciefelde Road, Longden Road

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Long Lane, Craven Arms
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 1 day between 09:00 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach- Replace decayed pole
Alternative Route: Watling Street, Clun Road, A49

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Newport Street, Clun
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Remedial Works
Alternative Route: Enfield Street, The Square, High Street, Ford Street

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Ollerton Lane, Ollerton
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New supply including 5 m trenching and joint holes.
Alternative Route: Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road West

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A53 between A49 Battlefield and Tern Hill Island.
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 9 nights between 20:00 to 06:00. Phase 1 - Battlefield to Shawbury - 29th August 2023 to 30th August 2023. Phase 2 - Shawbury to Hodnet - 30th August 2023
to 1st September 2023. Phase 3 - Hodnet to Ternhill Island - 4th September 2023 to 5th September 2023
Purpose: Night closures of A53 for carriageway repairs.
Alternative Route: Phase 1: A53, A41, A49 Phase 2: A53, A41, A49, A53 Phase 3: A41, A49, A53

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Brand Lane, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 2 nights between 20:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Thermal Patching remedial works (Please note that these works will not take place at the same time as other thermal patching remedial works on High Street and King Street)
Alternative Route: Broad Street, Dinham, Middle Wood Road, Whitcliffe Road, B4361 Old Street

Purpose: Thermal Patching remedial works will not take place at the same time as Brand Lane and King Street

Purpose: Thermal Patching remedial works

Purpose: Culvert repairs.

Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 between 08:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - National Grid, overhead works / reconductoring.
Alternative Route: A528, Huffley Lane, Shrewsbury road, Preston Gubbals road or A528, Broomhill road, Unnamed road North

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using and waiting on Layby South East of Leighton on B4380
Date & Duration: 28th August 2023 for 185 days
Purpose: Closure of layby for safety reasons
Alternative Route: Not applicable

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from waiting on Castle Square, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 30th August 2023 for 1 day
Purpose: Prohibition of parking for Ludlow Food festival including setup days
Alternative Route: Not applicable

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hope Bagot Lane, Knowbury
Date & Duration: 29th August 2023 for 21 days
Purpose: Retaining wall repairs along riverbank
Alternative Route: Hope Bagot Lane, Unnamed road North West, Caynham road
