What is happening?

THE A303 TRUNK ROAD (CHICKLADE) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023
Notice is given that National Highways Limited (a) proposes to make an Order under section 84(1)(a) and (2) of, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A303 Trunk Road in Wiltshire.
The effect of the Order would be to impose a 40 mph speed limit on the A303 eastbound and westbound between 610m west of its junction with the unclassified road to Hindon and 560m east of its junction with the unclassified road to Hindon.
A copy of the draft Order, a plan, and a statement of National Highways’ reasons for proposing to make the Order may be obtained by e-mailing southwestttro@nationalhighways.co.uk, or phoning 0300 470 4177 quoting reference NHSW 01/23.
Anyone wishing to object to the proposed Order should send, not later than 8 September 2023 or within 21 days from the date of first publication of this notice, if that period expires later, a written statement of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to National Highways at the address above, quoting reference HESW 01/23.
