Durham, Multiple Road Closures Due To Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (Micro Asphalting Programme 2022 -Various Roads, County Durham) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022 and Order Number 2 2022

The Council on 7/3/2022 and 29/7/2022 (respectively) made the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the various roads in County Durham. It is now necessary to re-close the following lengths of roads again to allow remedial works to the carriageway resurfacing. Temporary Road Closures: (Order 2022) 1. Drybun Hill, Durham 2. (Order No.2 2022) Town Pasture Lane, Roman Road A688, Barnard Castle. Alternative routes will be signed on site where available.

The maximum duration of the Orders is 18 months from 14/3/2022 and 1/8/2022. The proposed works on roads detailed above are to commence on 13/8/2023 over a period of approximately 1 day at each location. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly. Dated: 11/8/2023
