A38 Trunk Road - Temporary Road Closure For Resurfacing Works
What is happening?

THE A38 TRUNK ROAD (BURTON-ON-TRENT, STAFFORDSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an order on the A38 Trunk Road, at Burton-on-Trent, in the County of Staffordshire, to allow resurfacing works to be carried out to the A5121.
The effect of the Order will be to close any slip road or link road leading to or from the A38, to or from the A5121/ Claymills Road Interchange, at Burton-on-Trent.
The closures will be carried out overnight only between 21:00 hours and 06:00 hours and are expected to start on Tuesday 29 August 2023 and continue for one month. The Order will come into force on 22 August 2023.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A38 will be signed.

THE A38 TRUNK ROAD (HILLIARD’S CROSS, STAFFORDSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (SLIP ROAD) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A38 Trunk Road, at Hilliard’s Cross, in the County of Staffordshire, to enable British Telecommunications to carry out cabling works.
The effect of the Order will be to close the link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A38, to Wood End Lane, at Hilliard’s Cross.
It is expected that the link road will be closed overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours starting on Thursday 7 September 2023 and continuing for ten nights. The Order will come into force on Thursday 31st August 2023.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closure.
A diversion route via an alternative junction of the A38 will be signed.
