Shortfield Common Road (C26) Frensham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 16 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Shortfield Common Road (C26) Frensham. Alternative Route: Pitt Lane, Mill Lane, The Street, and (A287) Frensham Road or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate repair/replace water connection works for or on behalf of Southeast Water. These works are anticipated to be completed over 4 days between the hours of 9am and 4pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 29 August 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) Public Bridleways 583 and 532 (Tilford) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 10 August 2023 Surrey County Council made a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Bridleways 583 and 532 (Tilford) from its junction with Bridleway 529 (Tilford) (Grid Ref. 486008 114236), in a south westerly direction for approximately 700m.

The Order is necessary for reason of public safety due to filming and associated works taking place on the Bridleway. It will be in operation from 14 August 2023 until 4 September 2023 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The alternative route is as follows: When approaching the junction with Bridleway 529 (Tilford) at the northeastern end of the closure, bear north for 20m, before following Bridleway 178 (Farnham) for approximately 700m, adjacent to the closed Bridleway until reaching the junction with footpath 532 (Farnham), as marked between points A - B on the plan 3/1/15/H23. It is expected that members of the public will be able to access the bridleways when filming and associated activities are not taking place.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected. The ‘Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 583 and 532 (Tilford) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made by Surrey County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) Public Footpath 121 (Farnham)

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 121 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022 was made by reason of danger to the public due to restoration works being undertaken at Runfold Quarry. The Order came into operation on 28 February 2022 and was due to expire on 31 August 2023. It has now been continued in force for a second time by the Secretary of State for Transport until 31 August 2024, or completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 121 (Farnham) at Runfold Quarry, approximately 160m south of the junction with Guildford Road (Grid Ref: 486341, 147360), for 500m in a south south-westerly direction.

An alternative route around the closure has been provided and is indicated on site.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) Public Footpath 125b (Farnham)

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 125b (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made on the grounds of public safety due to fragile and damaged masonry on the West Bell Tower of St Andrew’s Church, and associated repair works taking place on or near the footpath.

The Order came into operation on 20 February 2023 and was due to expire on 20 August 2023. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 20 August 2024, or completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 125b (Farnham) at St Andrew’s Churchyard between Church Passage/Public Footpath 125 (Grid Ref: 483821, 146706), and a point approximately 30 metres to the west of the junction with Public Footpath 125c.

The alternative route for traffic will be via Public Footpath 125a, Public Footpath 125c and Public Footpath 125.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
