THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 7) SOUTHBOUND EXIT SLIP ROAD (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A1(M) Motorway at Stevenage in the County of Hertfordshire to enable nearby Local Authority waterproofing works to Langley rail bridge to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place over 3 non-consecutive weekends for 24 hours daily (9pm Fri - 5am Mon) during a period of 4 months starting on, or after Friday 18 August 2023. The effect of the Order will be to close the exit slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A1(M) at Junction 7, diverting traffic to continue southbound to exit at J6, then return northbound to exit at J7 and continue. During the works, the A1(M) Motorway (Junction 6 to Junction 10) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022/1746 will be suspended in part. The closures (which will not apply to emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The Order will come into force on 14 August 2023 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
