Swindon, Multiple Temporary Road Closures

SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD/ FOOTPATH CLOSURES AND RESTRICTIONS

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following orders:

(STR000616 A361 HIGHWORTH ROAD, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced for safety in area of construction site access and will impose a 40mph speed limit on the A361 Highworth Road, South Marston, from 50 metres south of Supermarine Roundabout to 215 metres north of Beech Farm access. The Order is effective on the 1 September 2023 for 18 months, but it is anticipated the speed restriction is only required until the 2 September 2024.

(PROW FP 14 WROUGHTON)

This Order is being introduced on health and safety grounds due to an unsafe footbridge and will impose a closure of PROW footpath 14 Wroughton.

Alternative route

From the eastern end of the closure proceed south along Elcombe, then southwest along Public Footpath 15 Wroughton. then west along Public Bridleway 16 Wroughton and north westwards along Bassett Down to the western end of the closure. The Order is effective from 1 September 2023 for 6 months.

(STR000684 Medbourne Lane, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for OPENREACH works and will impose a restriction on driving on Medbourne Lane next to Elmcroft. Traffic to be diverted via Medbourne Lane, Medbourne Road, The Ridgeway and B4192 Purley Road. The Order is effective from the 4 September 2023 for 6 months, but it is anticipated works will take place between 4 to 14 September 2023.

(STR000691 DEACON STREET, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced for Wales and West Utilities works and will impose a restriction on driving on Deacon Street between the junctions with Commercial Road and Dixon Street. Traffic to be diverted via Commercial Road, Crombey Street, Eastcott Hill and Dixon Street. The Order is effective from the 18 September 2023 for 6 months but it is anticipated works will be completed by 13 October 2023.

(STR000681 TEMPLE STREET, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced for street works and will temporary close Temple Street at the junction with Regent Street. No alternative route available. The Order effective from the 18 September 2023 for 6 months but it is anticipated the closure is only required until the 13 October 2023.

(STR000672 GREAT WESTERN WAY, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced to facilitate lane closure during construction and investigatory works and will impose a 30mph speed limit on Great Western Way between Meads Roundabout and Mannington Roundabout. The Order is effective from the 22 August 2023 for 18 months, but it is anticipated the speed restriction is only required during works.
