What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED) 

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order: ORDER NO. MCC135183237: The City of Manchester (Various Streets, Miles Platting & Newton Heath Ward, ) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Butler Street, Pollard Steet East, Beswick Street, Ridgeway Street.
The alternative routes for traffic will be locally signed. The City Council is satisfi ed that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate surface dressing. It is expected that the works will be in progress on Tuesday’s between 15th August 2023 to 29th August 2023. The order shall come into operation on 15th August 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
