What is happening?

DERBY CITY COUNCIL 

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS

Derby City Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

TEMPORARY ONE WAY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON MORLEDGE TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF LEFT TURN ORDER ON TRAFFIC STREET TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF RIGHT TURN ORDER ON THE COCKPIT, DERBY

WHEN: 15 August 2023 to 09 January 2024
WHERE: No entry to Morledge at its junction with Traffic Street and The Cock Pitt. Traffic will be allowed One way east bound from the Bus Station entrance to its junction with Traffic Street and The Cock Pitt. Traffic Street, Left turn suspension into Morledge The Cockpit, Right turn suspension into Morledge
REASON: Construction works
TYPE OF ORDER: Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Traffic Street North bound – The Cock Pitt – via Bus Station car park – Morledge And St Alkmunds Way South bound – The Cock Pitt – via Bus Station car park – Morledge And Station Approach – The Cock Pitt – via Bus Station car park – Morledge Buses only – Siddals Road – The Cock Pitt via Bus Station car park – Morledge

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON HOPE STREET, DERBY

WHEN: 14 August 2023 to 23 August 2023
WHERE: Hope Street, from its junction with Traffic Street to its junction with Castle Walk, Carrington Street and Liversage Road
REASON: Construction works 
TYPE OF ORDER: Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Traffic Street – London Road – Canal Street – Carrington Street And Carrington Street – Trinity Street – London Road – Traffic Street

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON DEEP DALE LANE, DERBY

WHEN: 14 August 2023 to 25 August 2023 (07.00 to 19.00hrs Daily) 
WHERE: Deep Dale Lane, from its junction with of Wragley Way to its junction with Glentress Drive, an approximate length of 80 metres. Access to properties to be maintained. 
REASON: Re-construction of carriageway
TYPE OF ORDER: Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Wragley Way – Stenson Road – Twyford Road (A5132) – Sinfin Lane – Deep Dale Lane and the same in the opposite direction

Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will be re-opened as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised Derby City Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Derby City Council (West Road) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Amendment to Map Based Schedule) (No.119) Order 2022

Derby City Council has made these Traffic Regulation Orders on 10th August 2023, which come into effect on 14th August 2023 under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers in that behalf.

The purpose of the Order will be to introduce the following restrictions, which includes the modification outside 20 and 22 West Road:

No Waiting (At Any Time)
• West Road – on both sides from the Sunningdale Avenue junction to number 31 and 34, apart from outside 20 and 22 West Road
• Sunningdale Avenue – on both sides of the West Road junction, from the existing no waiting at any time restriction outside number 8 for a distance of approximately 6 metres and outside number 20 for approximately 6m

No Waiting (Mon - Fri 8am - 4pm)
• West Road – outside 20 and 22 West Road
Copies of the Order and a copy of the Authority’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order, may be inspected online at https://www.derby.gov.uk/tro

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order on the grounds that it is outside the powers of the Acts or because they do not comply with any requirement or regulations made under them, may, within six weeks of the date of the Orders, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
