Hume Street - On Street Parking Places
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
(ON STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2009 (HUME STREET AREA VARIATION) ORDER 2023
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 3rd August 2023 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Sections 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53, 63 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which amends the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (On Street Parking Places) Order 2009 (“the 2009 On Street Order”).
2. The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 21st August 2023, is to -
(a) revoke the provision that all business premises in Hume Street are eligible to apply for business parking permits for the OB6 parking zone. Parking Permits will be limited to Nos. 3 and 4 Hume Street,
(b) revoke the provision that all business premises in Ford Street are eligible to apply for business parking permits for the OB6 parking zone. Parking Permits will be limited to Nos. 1, 1a and 2 Ford Street, and
(c) introduce a provision that business premises at Nos. 1, 4 and 8 Riverside Walk are eligible to apply for business parking permits for the OB6 parking zone.

3. If you wish to view the documents relating to the proposals (including draft Order, Map and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order), please email a request to streetworks@newcastle.gov.uk Alternatively, please telephone (0191) 2787878 to request a copy of the documents.
4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may, within six weeks from 3rd August 2023, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
