Chesterfield Road - Temporary Road Closure Extension
What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE EXTENSION
CHESTERFIELD ROAD, BEELEY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Derbyshire County Council on 16th February 2021 under Section 14 of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which was to close Chesterfield Road, Beeley has been extended.
The alternative route will be via Chesterfield Road, Devonshire Square, Rowsley Road, Chatsworth Road, Unnamed Road from Bent Lane to District Boundary, Beeley Lane and vice versa.
The road will be closed until 17th February 2025 or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner to facilitate landslip.
The full duration of this Order will be in excess of the prescribed 18 month limit stipulated under Section 14 of The Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 (as amended). However, as per the exceptions provided in Section 15 of the Act, Derbyshire County Council is satisfied that the scale and significance of this landslip is such, that for safety, the road closure is required for longer.
