What is happening?

LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL
THE LEICESTER (CONSOLIDATION) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2006 (AMENDMENT) LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL WORKS (LEW) NO. 28 TRO, LEICESTER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Leicester City Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 32, 35, 45, 46, 46A, 47, 48, 49, 51, 53 and 63A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of this Order will be to consolidate existing waiting, loading and manoeuvre restrictions already in force on the street listed below, by way of amendment to the Leicester (Consolidation) Traffic Regulation Order 2006 together with the changes as set out below:
1.Proposed removal of a disabled parking space on Baggrave Street
2. Proposed introduction of No Waiting at any time on sections of Cardinals Walk, Hartfield Road, Elms Road, Ottawa Road, Edmonton Road, Netherhall Road, Renfrew Road, Moorfields and New Romney Crescent
3. Proposed introduction of a taxi rank on a section of Conduit Street
4. Proposed introduction of no stopping on a school keep clear Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 5.00 pm term time on a section of New Romney Crescent

A COPY of the proposed Order, the relevant plan, the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen via the Leicester City Council website: www.leicester.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders or by calling 0116 4543720 and requesting a paper copy to be sent via post.

OBJECTIONS to the proposed Order should be sent either by email to Robin.Thomas@Leicester.gov.uk or by post to Traffic Management, Leicester City Council, City Hall, 115 Charles Street, Leicester, LE1 1FZ and marked for the attention of R Thomas 
Any objections should state the grounds on which they are made and must be received by the 31st August 2023

LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL WORKS HAZEL STREET TRO, LEICESTER 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council (“the Council”) HAS MADE an Order in Part under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 5, and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and being satisfied that, for the reasons specified in Section 3(2)(a), (b), (d), and (e) of the Act, it is requisite that subsection (1) of Section 3 of the Act should not apply to this Order, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby made the following Order:-
1. Proposed introduction of No Waiting at any time on a section of Sawday Street
2. Proposed introduction of no stopping on a school keep clear Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 5.00 pm term time on a section of Hazel Street and on 2 sections of Sawday Street.
3. Proposed introduction of a drop off Zone on a part of New Bridge Street, waiting limited to 5 minutes
4. Proposed removal of No Waiting at any time on a section of Sawday Street
5. Proposed removal of residents parking on a section of Sawday Street
6. Proposed introduction of residents parking on a section of Sawday Street

A COPY of the Order, the relevant plan, the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen during normal opening hours at Leicester City Council, Customer Service Centre, 91 Granby Street, Leicester, LE1 6FB.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order (which was made on 9th August 2023) or of any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 9TH August 2023 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

THIS ORDER WILL COME INTO FORCE ON MONDAY 14TH August 2023
