York, Multiple Temporary Traffic Restrictions

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an order on the 3rd day of August 2023 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4) & (5). Furthermore, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (6), (7), (8) & (9).

(1) QUEEN STREET, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Queen Street, York on the section of Queen Street leading down to the York Railway Institute between the projected north-eastern boundary of property No 18 and the projected north-western boundary of York Railway Institute building (closed road) during the period when gas mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 07 August 2023 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 01 September 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

Additionally, all 'on-street' parking places situated on the north-eastern side of the section of Queen Street, York leading down to the York Railway Institute between the projected south-eastern boundaries of property No's 15 and 20 (restricted road) will be subject to suspension for the duration of the works period only. Residential parking permit holders for zone R15SC will be allowed to park in Nunnery Lane Car Park free of charge for the works period only. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(2) A19 YORK ROAD / DEIGHTON TO CROCKEY HILL, DEIGHTON

This Order restricts vehicles to a 30 miles per hour (mph) speed limit in that length of road on A19 York Road / Deighton To Crockey Hill, Deighton between the junctions with Main Street, Deighton and Howden Lane, Crockey Hill (restricted roads) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs on Monday, 07 August 2023 and ending at 0500hrs on Tuesday, 08 August 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

(3) WESTMINSTER ROAD, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Westminster Road, York between its junction with Water End and a location 30 metres south-east of said junction (closed road) during the period when gas mains replacement works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Monday, 07 August 2023 and ending at 1800hrs on Friday, 18 August 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(4) KENT STREET, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Kent Street, York between its junctions with Fawcett Street and Barbican Road (closed road) during the period when drainage and highway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Monday, 07 August 2023 and ending at 2359hrs on Sunday, 08 October 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Access to the Fire Station and Q-Park Car Park will be maintained at all times. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(5) YARBURGH WAY, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Yarburgh Way, York between its junction with A1079 Hull Road and a location 50 metres south of said junction (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Thursday, 10 August 2023 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 11 August 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(6) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2305hrs on Saturday, 12 August 2023 and ending at 0635hrs on Sunday, 13 August 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(7) GOODRAMGATE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Goodramgate, York between its junctions with Deangate and King's Square (closed road) during the period when hostile vehicle mitigation works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0500hrs on Monday,

14 August 2023 and ending at 1900hrs on Friday, 22 September 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(8) FARNDALE AVENUE & THE LEYES, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Farndale Avenue & The Leyes, York on Farndale Avenue between its junction with Tranby Avenue to the projected southwestern boundary of property No. 26 on The Leyes (closed roads) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 14 August 2023 and ending at 1700hrs on Tuesday, 22 August 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the roads will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1700hrs each day during the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(9) ALLERTON DRIVE, POPPLETON

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Allerton Drive, Poppleton between its junctions with Ebor Way and Nether Way (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 15 August 2023 and ending at 1700hrs on Tuesday, 22 August 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1700hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/ barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
