Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
MAIDSTONE AREA
ALKHAM ROAD & NORTHFLEET CLOSE, MAIDSTONE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Alkham Road & Northfleet Close, Maidstone.
Alkham Road
Alkham Road will be closed from 14th August 2023, with estimated completion by 4th September 2023.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Hadlow Road and Blendon Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Commodore Road, Marston Drive, Claremont Road, A249, Hampton Road and vice versa.
Northfleet Close
Northfleet Close will be closed from 14th August 2023, with estimated completion by 25th September 2023.
The road will be closed from the junction with Alkham Road, to the extent inidicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Bargrove Road, Hampton Road and vice versa.
CAVE HILL, TOVIL. ME15 6FU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cave Hill, Tovil, on or after 15th August 2023, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Crisbrook House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Stockett Lane, Bockingford Lane and vice versa.
COURTENAY ROAD, MAIDSTONE. ME15 6LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Courtenay Road, Maidstone, on or after 14th August 2023, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the Coombe Road junction to the Old Tovil Road junction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Old Tovil Road, Brenchley Road, Coombe Road, Courtney Road and vice versa.
EAST SUTTON ROAD, MAIDSTONE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow tree surgery works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of East Sutton Road, Maidstone, on or after 30th August 2023, for up to 1 day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Maidstone Road to the junction with Stickfast Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via East Sutton Road, Maidstone Road, Tattlebury Lane, Tilden Road, Stickfast Lane, East Sutton Road and vice versa.
HUNTSMAN LANE & VINTERS ROAD, MAIDSTONE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Huntsman Lane alleyway and Vinters Road, on or after 14th August 2023, with estimated completion by 3rd September, or until the works have been completed.
Huntsman Lane alleyway will be closed between the junction with Snowdon Avenue and Invicta Grammar School, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Vinters Road will be closed from the junction with Huntsman Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The One-Way Order on Vinters Road will be temporarily suspended.
The alternative route for any through traffic:- Huntsman Lane (pedestrian traffic only) is via Vinters Road, Sittingbourne Road, Snowdon Avenue (Alleyway) and vice versa.
Vinters Road is via Huntsman Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Andrew Broughton Way, Albion Place, Sittingbourne Road and vice versa.
MARSHAM STREET, MAIDSTONE. ME14 1FW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Marsham Street, Maidstone, on or after 29th August 2023, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 19, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Marsham Street, Church Street, King Street, Queen Anne Road, Union Street, Wyatt Street, Marsham Street and vice versa.
MELVILLE ROAD, MAIDSTONE. ME15 6EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Melville Road, Maidstone, on or after 14th August 2023, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 8, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Brunswick Street East, Upper Stone Street, Mote Road, Melville Road and vice versa.
OLD HAM LANE, LENHAM. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Old Ham Lane, Lenham, on or after 14th August 2023, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Baldock Wood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Ham Lane, High Street, Headcorn Road, Sandway Road and vice versa.
STILEBRIDGE LANE, LINTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stilebridge Lane, Linton, on or after 15th August 2023, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of White House Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Butt Green Lane, A229 Linton Hill and vice versa.
VARIOUS ROADS, EAST FARLEIGH & MAIDSTONE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2023
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in East Farleigh & Maidstone, on or after 28th August 2023, with an estimated completion by 6th November 2023, or until the works have been completed.

Farleigh Lane will be closed from 28th August 2023, with estimated completion by 3rd November 2023.
The road will be closed from the junction with Rectory Lane to the junction with Farleigh Bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 Broadway, A229 Fairmeadow, Bishops Way, Palace Avenue, Lower Stone Street, Upper Stone Street, Sheals Crescent, Postley Road, Old Tovil Road, Tovil Road, Tovil Hill, Farleigh Hill, Dean Street, Lower Road, Station Hill, Farleigh Bridge, Farleigh Hill and vice versa.

Phase 1
Glebe Lane will be closed from 28th August 2023, with estimated completion by 8th September 2023.

Glebe Lane will be closed from 23rd October 2023, with estimated completion by 3rd November 2023.

Farleigh Bridge, East Farleigh
Farleigh Bridge will be closed from 18th September 2023, with estimated completion by 2nd November 2023.
The road will be closed from the junction with Station Hill to the junction with Farleigh Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 Broadway, A229 Fairmeadow, Bishops Way, Palace Avenue, Lower Stone Street, Upper Stone Street, Sheals Crescent, Postley Road, Old Tovil Road, Tovil Road, Tovil Hill, Farleigh Hill, Dean Street, Lower Road, Station Hill, Farleigh Bridge, Farleigh Hill and vice versa.

River Close, East Farleigh
River Close will be closed from 25th September 2023, with estimated completion by 6th November 2023.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Maidstone, on or after 30th August 2023, with an estimated completion by 1st December 2023, or until the works have been completed.
