What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from Waiting, Loading or Stopping At Any Time on Hawks Road Gateshead:
i) North Side from its junction with Mill Road in a westerly direction to its junction with Quaysgate;
ii) South Side from its junction with Quarryfield Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 70 metres;
iii) South Side from its junction with East Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 176 metres.
The Order is required to ensure public safety is maintained during development works being carried out in the area. It is proposed that the Order will come into force on the 21 August 2023. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months.
