A34 Birmingham Road - Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prevent any vehicle from proceeding or stopping in that length of carriageway specified in Schedule 1 OTHER THAN in the direction specified in Schedule 2

That length of A34 Birmingham Road that is situated from its junction with Bell Road to its junction with Lodge Road
SCHEDULE 2
North-westerly
A temporary ‘no stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Stopping restriction will be in force. A signed diversion route will be in operation for affected traffic and access to adjacent properties and for emergency vehicles will be maintained wherever it is safe and possible to do so. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this Order will be signed via A34 Birmingham Road, A4148 Broadway North, B4151 Sutton Road, B4154 Beacon Road and A4041 Queslett Road and A34 Birmingham Road.
This Order will come into operation on Thursday 17 August 2023 and will remain in force for a period of eighteen months or until the work is completed, whichever is the earlier. The one way traffic and clearway is appropriate to ensure that a contractor working on behalf of Walsall Council can undertake kerb replacement and carriageway patching works in a manner that enhances the safety of both workforce and travelling public. Work is expected to take place between the hours of 2000 (8.00pm) and 0600 (6.00 am) only on Thursday 17 August 2023 and Friday 18 August 2023.
