A70 from Hyndford Bridge to Carstairs and A743/A70 Lanark Road, Ravenstruther Temporary Road Closure Order 2023

South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-

This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, A70 from Hyndford Bridge to Carstairs and A743/A70 Lanark Road, Ravenstruther, Temporary Road Closure Order 2023” and shall come into operation on Monday 14 August 2023 at 8am and will remain in operation for up to 14 days. The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Whilst this Order remains in force no person shall park, drive or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of emergency service vehicles) on the sections of road specified in Schedule 1 by reason of road safety during carriageway resurfacing and patching works.

Schedule 1 – 

Temporary Road Closure A743 and A70

A743 Lanark Road, Ravenstruther between the junctions of Silvermuir Road and number 4 Corbiehall Terrace, Ravenstruther.

A70 between the junctions of Lanark Road/ Corbiehall Terrace, Ravenstruther and A73 Hyndford Road.

Alternative Routes

For A70 traffic via A73, A706 and A721.

For A743 traffic via A743, A706, A721 and A70.
