What is happening?

Gloucestershire County Council Temporary Closures Various Roads (Huntley And Taynton Parishes) Forest Of Dean District 
Gloucestershire County Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the roads as detailed in the schedule below.

The reason for the closures is to install Gigaclear apparatus. The roads are expected to be closed and restricted at various times on a rolling programme commencing 7th August 2023 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the closures and restrictions are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closure/restrictions taking effect. This order can permit the closure and restriction of the roads in any order, or simultaneously  as required and it is anticipated all works will be completed by 21st November 2023. Temporary Closure 50052 Howells Lane (Awre Parish) Forest Of Dean District 
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 50052 Howells Lane from its junction with the A48 to outside the property known as The Old Inn for a distance of approximately 441 metres.  The reason for the closure is to provide a safe working zone whilst pole replacement works are undertaken.  The road is expected to be closed between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs on 8th August 2023 only or until the works have been completed. Temporary Closure Of Public Footpath Ews 63 (Westbury On Severn Parish) Forest Of Dean District 
Notice is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath EWS 63 from its junction with Public Footpath EWS 58 in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 645 metres to its junction with EWS 125 (“the Footpath”)  The Footpath falls within the Parish of Westbury on Severn in the Forest of Dean District within the County of Gloucestershire. The closure is necessary to safeguard the public while construction works relating the upgrading of the railway crossing are completed. The Order will come into force from the 7th August 2023 at 06:00hrs. It is expected the Footpath will remain closed until 05:00hrs on the  11th August 2023. This Order can however remain in force for six months if necessary, or until the works are completed which is earlier. If a  longer period of time is required, it will be necessary to apply to the Secretary of State for an extension of time.
Alternative Route – as indicated on the Order Map by a dash black line marked A to B to C. Emergency access will be maintained. Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of 40123 Severn Road from its junction with the A48 to outside the property known as No.1 for a distance of approximately 100 metres.  The reason for the closure is for Severn Trent works.  The road is expected to be closed from 08:00 on 21st August 2023 until 18:00 on the 23rd August 2023 only or until the works have been completed, whichever is the later. Temporary Closure 40008 Hanley Lane (Tidenham Parish) Forest Of Dean District 
Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of 40008 Hanley Lane from its junction with Boughspring Lane to outside the property known as April Cottage for a distance of approximately 10 metres.  The reason for the closure is for Severn Trent pipe repair works. The road is expected to be closed from 23rd August 2023 until 25th August 2023 only or until the works have been completed.
