What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2021 (CASTLE FARM AND PADDY FREEMANS VARIATION) ORDER 2023

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 27th July 2023 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Sections 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which varies the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2021 (“the 2021 Order”).
2. The effect of the Order, which will come into operation on 14th August 2023, is to -
(a) extend the days during which parking charges are payable at Castle Farm car park to all days of the week (currently charges are payable Monday to Friday).
(b) remove the £3 all day Sunday charge at Paddy Freemans car park and replace it with a requirement to pay the hourly rate for the car park, that is the charge which is payable Monday to Saturday.
3. If you wish to view the documents relating to the Order (including the draft Order, Map and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order), please email a request to streetworks@newcastle.gov. uk Alternatively, please telephone (0191) 2787878 to request a copy of the documents.
4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may, within six weeks from 27th July 2023, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
