Blakey Moor, Temporary Road Closure Due To Refurbishment Works
What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN
(BLAKEY MOOR, BLACKBURN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council ("the Council"), made the above Order under Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"). The effect of the Order is to close Blakey Moor for the following extent: From its junction with Barton Street to its junction with Duke Street, Blackburn.
The closure is necessary for the following reason: to facilitate the Site Compound to enable the refurbishment of Blackburn College Victoria Building.

The Order will come into force on 31st July 2023 and due to the substantial nature of the building refurbishment works the Council pursuant to clause 15(2) of the Act it shall continue for a period of 3 years being 31 July 2026.
However, should the works complete sooner than the estimated period the Council will formally revoke this Order.
The alternative route for eastbound traffic will be Blakey Moor, Alma Street, Barbara Castle Way, Montague Street, Feilden Street, Barton Street.
The alternative route for westbound traffic will be Blakey Moor, Northgate, Duke Street. There will be no access for emergency services or pedestrians.
