Lewes Road, Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders Due To Installation of Fibre Optic Cables

What is happening?

BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - LEWES ROAD, BRIGHTON

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-

In Phases

(a) The temporary closure of the North Eastbound Bus Lane of Lewes Road approximately 185 metres from the junction with Coldean Lane, for approximately 105 metres.

(b) The temporary suspension of the North Eastbound Bus Lane Traffic Order along Lewes Road, approximately 185 metres from the junction with Coldean Lane, for approximately 40 metres.

(c) The temporary suspension of the South Westbound Bus Lane Traffic Order along Lewes Road, from its starting point Southwest of Coldean Lane, for approximately 60 metres.

(d) The temporary closure of the South Westbound Bus Lane of Lewes Road, from its starting point Southwest of Coldean Lane, for approximately 65 metres.

2. The Order is necessary to allow contractor to install fibre optic cables.

3. Pedestrian access will be maintained

4. This Order comes into force on 7 August 2023 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which anticipated to be on the 16 August 2023.
