Village Street - Temporary Road Closure For Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VILLAGE STREET, EDWALTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2023 (R23-091)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Edwalton in the Borough of Rushcliffe.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Village Street, Edwalton - From its junction with Melton Road in an easterly direction for (a distance of) 27 metres.
2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 08:00 hours on Wednesday 26th July 2023 Until 18:00 hours on Wednesday 23rd August 2023 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: Melton Road - Melton Gardens - Alford Road - Wellin Lane and Vice versa
The Order will come into force on 26th July 2023 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Alliance Groundworks and Civils ltd on behalf of Taylor Wimpey to carry out works to install a Toucan Crossing and resurfacing works.
