What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA
B2068 Stone Street & Swan Lane, Ashford (30MPH & 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory speed limit on part of B2068 Stone Street & Swan Lane, Folkestone, between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 only, on or after 24th July 2023 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The 40MPH speed restriction for B2068 Stone Street will be between the junctions of Stone Street and Blind House Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The 30MPH speed restriction for Swan Lane will between the junctions of Blind House Lane and A20 Main Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Christ Church Road, Folkestone CT20 2BW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Christ Church Road, Folkestone, on or after 25th July 2023 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Sandgate Road and A2033 Bouverie Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Sandgate Road, Manor Road and A2033 Bouverie Road.
Curteis Lane, Stowting TN25 6BW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Curteis Lane, Stowting, on or after 24th July 2023 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Stowting Court Road and Whiteways, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Stowting Court Road, Whiteways and vice versa.
Godwyn Gardens, Folkestone CT20 2NL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic & parking on part of Godwyn Gardens, Folkestone, on or after 7th August 2023 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed the entire length. Parking on Godwyn Gardens will be prohibited the entire length. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Paddlesworth Lane, Hawkinge CT18 7FZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Paddlesworth Lane, Hawkinge, on or after 7th August 2023 for up to 17 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Teddars Leas Road and Aerodrome Road, to the actual extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Teddars Leas Road, Paddlesworth Court, School Road, Coach Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Spitfire Way, Aerodrome Road and vice versa.
Rossendale Gardens, Folkestone CT20 1NP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rossendale Gardens, Folkestone, on or after 27th July 2023 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Rossendale Road and A2033 Dover Road, to the actual extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rossendale Road, Martello Road, A2033 Dover Road and vice versa.
Sandling Road, Sandling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Road, Sandling, on or after 24th July 2023 for up to 39 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of The Green and A20 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Green, Brockhill Road, Bartholomew Lane, North Road, Barrack Hill, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road and vice versa.

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT 18) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL intend to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:
The Order will revise the waiting restrictions in the Folkestone Seafront And The Stade Parking Zone (Zone C) in the following roads:
• Back Street
• Beach Street
• East Street
• Fish Market
• North Street
• Radnor Street
• The Stade
Existing At Any Time waiting restriction in The Stade outside The Ship public house will be removed and replaced with a loading bay operating at all times.
Existing At Any Time waiting restriction in Fish Market outside Kiosks 1-4 will be removed and replaced with a loading bay operating at all times.
Loading prohibitions operating at all times will be applied to all other waiting restrictions, with the exception of the northern arm of East Street and from no.2 Back Street to the viaduct (both sides).

Various Roads, Folkestone (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow gas works to be carried out in 6 phases, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Folkestone, on or after 24th July 2023 for up to 40 days or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed as a rolling closure. Once works are completed on each phase, works will commence on the next phase, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The road closure lengths and diversion routes for each phase are detailed below:
Phase 1 - Ashley Avenue will be closed, between the junctions of B2064 Cheriton High Street and Narrabeen Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shaftsbury Avenue, Somerset Road, B2064 Cheriton High Street and vice versa.
Phase 2 - Narrabeen Road will be closed, between the junctions of Ashley Avenue and Ilex Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashley Avenue, B2064 Cheriton High Street, Ilex Road and vice versa.
Phase 3 - Phillip Road will be closed, between the junctions of Ashley Avenue and Ilex Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashley Avenue, Narrabeen Road, Ilex Road and vice versa.
Phase 4 - Stoddart Road will be closed, between the junctions of Ashley Avenue and Bowen Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashley Avenue, Darlinghurst Road, Bowen Road and vice versa.
Phase 5 - Darlinghurst Road will be closed between the junctions of Ashley Avenue and Bowen Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashley Avenue, Stoddart Road, Bowen Road and vice versa.
Phase 6 - Shaftesbury Avenue will be closed between the junctions of Ashley Avenue and Somerset Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashley Avenue, Tile Kiln Lane, Surrenden Road, B2064 Cheriton High Street, Somerset Road and vice versa.
