Isle of Wight, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions
What is happening?
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 14 July 2023 and Friday 25 August 2023 the following roads will be closed for both day and night for approximately one to 15 days during this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable the next planned programme of carriageway maintenance works to be completed. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs.
These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, rectification, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerblng works. In some cases, It may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences:

The Isle of Wight Council (Clarendon Place and Clarendon Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2023 - the one-way restriction will be revoked along Clarendon Place and Clarendon Street will be revoked for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

Notice Is hereby given that the following Orders have been made under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1B47:-
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 8 2023 Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1130 hours and 1330 hours, on Saturday 15 July 2023, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along, starting from,
1) Queens Road between its junctions with Westwood Drive and West Street;
2) West Street between its junctions with Queens Road and Lind Street;
3) Lind Street for its entire length;
4) St Thomas Square for its entire length;
5) Union Street for its entire length;
6) Esplanade on both sides, between its junctions with Union Street and North Walk.
This order is required in the interests of road safety during the IW Pride street parade event. Alternative routes will be signposted locally.
