What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL 
BURNLEY ROAD, ALTHAM, HYNDBURN BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any class of vehicle to proceed over that length of Burnley Road from outside no 109 to junction of Moorfield Way.

2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The Order will be in force daily from 08:00 to 16:00 hours on Monday 7th August to Friday 18th August 2023 or until completion of the works within this period. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures will be locally signed.

5. Pedestrian access to premises on or adjacent to the road will not be prohibited by any provision of this order.

6. Access to be maintained wherever and whenever possible

7. Residents access will be maintained to park overnight

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow surface dressing works to be carried out by Lancashire County Council.
