What is happening?

Somerset Council
Parish of Martock Temporary Closure of Hurst

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Hurst - from the junction with Hurst Park, southwards for a total distance of 39 metres.
This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out work to replace chamber.
The Order becomes effective on 13th July 2023 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 17th July 2023 and last until 19th July 2023 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 3 days.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
