Staines Road West (A308) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 05 July 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of (a) the eastbound carriageway of Staines Road West (A308) Ashford as extends from its junction with (C233) Chertsey Road and for a distance of 100 metres either side. Alternative Route: (1) Eastbound- School Road, Feltham Hill Road, Chertsey Road, Cadbury Road, and Staines Road West; (2) From Littleton Road – Littleton Road, Ashford Road, School Road, Feltham Hill Road, Chertsey Road, Cadbury Road, and Staines Road West; (3) Westbound – Staines Road West, School Road, Feltham Hill Road, and Chertsey Road; (4) From Chertsey Road- Chertsey Road, Cadbury Road, and Staines Road West; and; (b) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the westbound carriageway of Staines Road West (A308) Ashford as extends from its junction with (C233) Littleton Road and for a distance of 130 metres either side. Alternative Route: (1) Westbound – Cadbury Road, Chertsey Road, Feltham Hill Road, School Road, and Staines Road West; (2) From Littleton Road – Littleton Road, Ashford Road, and Staines Road West; (3) From Chertsey Road – Chertsey Road, Feltham Hill Road, School Road, and Staines Road West. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to allow improvement works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 10 nights as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 July 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
