What is happening?

Parish of Wanstrow Temporary Closure of Station Road and Burts Hill to Nunney Catch Roundabout

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Station Road - from the junction with St Marys Place, to the junction with Church Street; and Burts Hill to Nunney Catch Roundabout - from the junction with Church Street, northwards for a distance of 47 metres. A total distance of 125 metres. This Order will enable Somerset Council Small Improvements Scheme to carry out works to install an uncontrolled crossing.
The Order becomes effective on 6th July 2023 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 12th July 2023 and last until 14th July 2023 between the hours of 08:00 - 18:00 for a total of 3 days.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
