What is happening?

SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL

(BEDE TERRACE AREA, JARROW 20MPH) ORDER 2023

On 28 June 2023 South Tyneside Council made an Order under Section 84 of and Schedule
9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Order which
comes into operation on 10 July 2023 will reduce the speed limit to 20 mph on the entire
lengths of Bede Terrace; Biscop Terrace; Ceolfrid Terrace; Ecgfrid Terrace; Kristin Avenue
and Mill Dene View, Jarrow. Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a
plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for
making the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm at the
Town Hall, Westoe Road, South Shields, NE33 2RL. Any person who wishes to question the
validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers
conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements of the Act or of any relevant regulations
made under the Act have not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 28 June 2023
when the Order was made, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
