What is happening?

EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(PART OF HILDERTHORPE ROAD,
BRIDLINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any
vehicle to proceed along Hilderthorpe Road, Bridlington
from its junction with Station Road travelling eastbound for
a distance of approximately 50 metres.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
CSO chamber repair faults works, to be carried out and
completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed between 3 July 2023 and 5 July 2023 between
20.00 hours and 05.00 hours each night.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is
via Bessingby Road, Kingsgate, Bessingby Way Roundabout,
Thornton Road, Bessingby Hill, Well Lane Bypass,
Scarborough Road Roundabout, Scarborough Road South,
St John Street, Quay Road, Quay Road Roundabout,
Springfield Avenue and the remainder of Hilderthorpe Road.
The road will be open at all times to pedestrians, residents
and for emergency services.
The Order will commence on 3 July 2023 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until
the works which it is proposed to carry out have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
